Zagora, in this place in November 1993, was founded the Women's Agrotourist Cooperative of Zagora, the only Women's Cooperative of Magnesia, from 50 women who wanted to use their traditions and offer services not dry tourist but fun, taste and quality.

Today, Zagoras Women's Agrotourism Cooperative has its own store in the central square of the village of Agios Georgios. In the "cafeteria" the visitor can taste a wide variety of sweets, jams, traditional pastry sweets, homemade liqueurs, homemade appetizers that accompany the local tsipouro. Recently the Laboratory of the Cooperative has begun to function, where, without losing homemade care, it gives the opportunity for larger production with better quality control. All products are pure, made exclusively from fruit and herbs of the region, without preservatives and with the taste of traditional Greek cuisine.

For more demanding visitors the Agrotourist Women's Cooperative of Zagora undertakes the preparation of meals, banquets, etc. It is a groundbreaking catering service (the "kettering" ... as it is known in the urban centers) and the orders up to now prove quality. All dishes are exclusively local cuisine, and the customer can discuss with the Cooperative's representatives and end up with the meal he or she prefers. And prices .... Surprise!

The products are manufactured in a new laboratory. Thus, there is a possibility for larger production with better quality control. Nevertheless, home care is not lacking. All products are pure, made exclusively from fruit and herbs of the area, without preservatives and with the delicacy of traditional cuisine.

ACTIVITIES

The Women's Agrotourism Cooperative of Zagora operates a café-shop in the central square of Zagora in the neighborhood of Ai Giorgis. Here you can taste spoon sweets, jams, home-made mezedes, liqueurs and traditional pastry sweets accompanied by local tsipouro. Another activity of the Cooperative is the operation of the traditional guest house with the daily care of women.
