Description
The View
While driving from Volos City towards Portaria Pelion, you will find one of the cosiest shelters ever, "The View", offering a breathtaking view of Volos City.
The House is only situated just 100 meters away from the central square. It is an ideal Traditional Pelion House furnished with handmade furniture that travels you back in time, offering you the comfort of a modern house.
The House also offers central heating and an air conditioning system for summer.
On the ground floor, you will find a kitchenette, a cosy living room with a sofa, a flat TV, a bathroom, a double bed and a room with two sofas that convert into beds.
The upper floor also consists of a spacious living room, a bedroom with a sofa that converts into a double bed, a flat TV, a W/C, a fully equipped kitchen place and a picturesque balcony overlooking the city of Volos and the village of Makrinitsa with its incredible slopes...
The lovely garden offers two spots surrounded by the famous hydrangeas in vivid colours, where you can enjoy every meal during the day or just relax while admiring the breathtaking sunset.
Portaria village is only 11km from Volos City and 12.5km from the famous ski centre at Chania Pelion. While in Portaria, you will have a great chance to experience Pelion's cultural and natural heritage, such as the magnificent square of Portaria surrounded by the traditional tavernas among the ruins of Hotel "Theoxenia", a typical element of Neoclassical Architecture at the beginning of the 20th century.
You will also be charmed by the short walks you may take through the traditional paths or trails of the well-known "monopatia" via the village, where you will see tiny shops and cafes along the trails.
For those who love to walk a bit further, a trail route about 3-4 km from Portaria village to Makrinitsa village is ideal for those who want a longer walk admiring the Pelion slopes and finally reaching the Byzantine Museum while sipping some coffee at the traditional cafe there, mainly known for its authentic mural by the famous greek painter "Theofilos".
